MACIEJ JABŁOŃSKI

Biogram

Maciej Jabłoński, a composer, born 29th of July 1974, Golub Dobrzyn. 1993-98 studied composition with prof. Marek Stachowski at the Music Academy in Krakow, Poland (from which he graduated with honours). Since 1998 he has been faculty member of the Music Academy in Krakow, since 2004 as Assistant Professor (with PhD degree), since 2024 – as Professor. Since 2015 he has his own composition class. He cooperates with PWM Edition. In October 2019 he received the Bronze Cross of Merit and the Honorary Medal “Merit for Polish Culture”in 2023 – National Education Comittee Honorary Medal.

His skills developped during international composer’s workshops: in 1997 – Young Composers Meeting, Apeldoorn (with Rodney Sherman, Robert HP Platz, Louis Andriessen), Sommerkurse für Neue und Computermusik in Stuttgart, International Summer Composer’s Workshop in Radziejowice (with Peter Michael Hamel, Alejandro Iglesias Rossi, Paul Patterson); in 1998 – Buckower Sommerwerkstatt in Buckow; in 2006 Internationale Sommerkurse Darmstadt (with Helmut Lachenmann and Georges Aperghis).

He collaborates with orchestras (such as Polish Radio National Symphony Orchestra, National Philharmonic Choir and Orchestra, Polish Radio Orchestra, AUKSO – Chamber Orchestra of the Town of Tychy, Amadeus String Orchestra, Beethoven Academy Orchestra, Krakow Music Academy Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of the Silesian Opera House, Tarnow Chamber Orchestra), conductors (such as Tomasz Bugaj, Wojciech Czepiel, Agnieszka Duczmal, Michał Dworzyński, Przemysław Fiugajski, José Maria Florêncio, Marek Moś, Marcin Nałęcz-Niesiołowski, Paweł Przytocki, Tomasz Tokarczyk, Maciej Tworek, Piotr Warzecha, Antoni Wit, Sławek A. As an author cooperates with PWM Edition, Krakow Philharmonic Orchestra, magazines Ruch Muzyczny, Glissando and Dwutygodnik. He is one of authors of the Concert Music Guide (PWM 2003).
